Streamcast Miracast/DLNA is a Smart TV app which gives you the opportunity to transform your regular TV into an Internet or Smart TV using your Smartphone. You will need to have a Streamcast Dongle in order for you to make use of this smart TV app, though. Simply plug the device into your TV and turn it on. Once the Streamcast dongle has been powered up, all you have to do is to tap on the Scan button located on the bottom of the home screen of the app. Streamcast Miracast/DLNA will commence the scan and locate the device that you have activated.
As the scan finishes, the device ID will be shown on the home screen of the app. It is a sign that the app has located the Streamcast device and is ready to pair with it. Once the app and the device have both been connected with each other, you can share apps, photos, games, audio and videos from your Android handset onto your TV via Miracast. In addition to this, any Airplay or DLNA supported media content can also be streamed to your TV too.
I had little trouble in setting up the connection in between my Streamcast device and this Smart TV app. Once it was all setup, it was a fun experience for me to have all my favorite apps shared on my TV. Playing my favorite android games on the big screen of my TV was certainly a joyful experience for me which was made possible by this useful and handy app.
Streamcast Miracast/DLNA offers up four set of options to its users after the connection between the Streamcast device and this Smart TV app has been established. The first one is the 'Network', the second is 'Upgrade', the third is 'Settings' and the last is 'About'.
The Network option is for setting up the DLNA. To get this to work, you will have to select the SSID from a list on the Access Point menu and enter the password before you hit the connect button located at the bottom-left of the screen.
The Update option is for getting the Firmware upgrade for the Streamcast dongle device. In order to get this upgrade, you will have to first download the updated file of the firmware upgrade from the official website and store it on your phone. You will then have to locate this file using the update option after having launched the app on your phone. The upgrading process is a simple one once the updated firmware file has been located by the Update option and takes only a few minutes to complete.
